\nInspired by Kabbalah, Zen, poetry, and myth, Richard Seidman<\/strong> breathes on the glowing ember of Jewish renewal to help raise a fire by which we can warm ourselves, tell our stories, and feed the spirit of life.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In the environmental community, Richard Seidman was nationally recognized for his role as founder and former leader of the non-profit urban forestry organization, Friends of Trees, for which Mr. Seidman received the field’s highest national award.<\/p>\n

Mr. Seidman has a B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a M.Ed. in teaching the deaf from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. In addition to being a teacher of the deaf and leading Friends of Trees, he has worked as a college writing instructor, technical writer, janitor, farm hand, and ice cream pushcart vendor. He currently runs Catalyst Coaching, helping other writers, artists, and entrepreneurs move past impediments and live the creative life they desire, and he also works as a grant writer for the Center for Popular Democracy.<\/p>\n

Mr. Seidman holds a black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has studied for years with Zen teachers, Robert Aitken, Nelson Foster, and Andrew Mason, and with author and teacher, Mart\u00edn Prechtel, and seer and energy-worker, Paul Richards.<\/p>\n

He is also the author of two books for children, World Cup Mouse<\/em> and The Secret of Ebbets Field,<\/em>\u00a0and several screenplays for family films.<\/p>\n

He is married to Rachael Resch and lives in Ashland, Oregon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
